Every person wishing to enter Canada on a temporary basis must obtain a Temporary Resident Visa. A Temporary Resident Visa allows the holder to enter Canada within the time allowed for the visit.
A Temporary Resident Visa may be obtained at any Canadian Embassy, Canadian Consulate or Canadian High Commission (herein after referred to as Visa Office) in your country. Persons wishing to obtain a Temporary Resident Visa are requested to contact a Canadian Government Visa Office or visit in person the said Visa Office and obtain an application form. This application form once completed can be mailed or dropped off in person at the Visa Office. As well, an application form can be completed in person at the Visa Office.
Processing of Temporary Resident Visas is done somewhat rapidly, however, applicants are advised to apply well in advance of their planed departure for Canada.
Persons wishing to visit Canada may apply for a single entry or multiple entry, allowing the holder of a multiple entry visa to enter Canada as often as he or she wishes during the validity of the visa.
